    THIRTEEN would prove to be unlucky for Celtic in 1976. Victory over Hearts on a squally Monday October evening at Hampden saw Jock Stein’s side reach the League Cup final for a 13th year in succession. They would reach that stage one more time before that remarkable run was finally ended by Rangers in the semi-finals in 1978. No other team has come close to matching that level of consistency. No side ever will.
