PATRICK (Paddy) Barclay, who has died at the age of 77, was a football journalist par excellence, who worked for several British broadsheet titles and wrote a number of well-received books about football. He was also a popular and authoritative voice on Sky TV and TalkSport and, latterly, on a podcast.
