DEREK McInnes said that yesterday’s Betfred Cup semi-final matchwinner Lewis Ferguson was born to play at Hampden Park and expressed belief that his Aberdeen side can go on to finish the job against Celtic back here next month. Ferguson’s late headed goal against Rangers yesterday settled a scrappy game to move the Dons through to the fourth final of the McInnes era, and for the third showpiece in a row, Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic provide the opposition. The Aberdeen manager, whose side have yet to concede in this competition all season, doesn’t see any reason why his team can’t go one better than the 2016-17 campaign, when they lost two finals to Celtic, culminating in Tom Rogic’s last-gasp Scottish Cup final winner.
